So, in case you're not sticking around for the interface change, but still want to keep tabs on stuff I post, you can check out my twitter at twitter.com/Spectrum_VII

I'll continue using the site and give the new layout a chance, but I really hope DeviantArt pulls back on the forced implementation.

That's about it-- stay safe out there, folks.

Hey guys, just writing this journal as a quick thank-you to the anonymous person who got me a year-long premium yesterday. Totally unexpected-- and much appreciated! ^^

Anyways, I hope you're all having a good time with friends and family this holiday season-- if not, then just indulge in some good old-fashioned consumerism and buy yourselves something shiny.

Okay guys, I feel like I've had to say this a million times already so let me just compile my thoughts here in this journal, one last time.

My studies have been getting a lot of attention recently, and I appreciate all the nice comments, but... I'm not going to pretend like I'm some kind of authority on art. Lots of people have asked if they can use my studies as reference-- you're welcome to use my stuff, but I would highly recommend you study from life instead.

I can not overstate how much better it is to study directly from real life, whether it's from photos or a live model sitting in front of you. An artist will make mistakes, and if you look to their studies as a guide for your own artistic development, you risk making those same mistakes-- that won't be an issue if you work directly from the source material, i.e., reality.

I've had numerous people request that I do a study in a particular style of clothing that they're trying to learn. This doesn't make any sense. You're not going to learn anything by having me do the work for you-- instead of waiting for someone to make a study, go do it yourself :XD:

This has been a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood artist.

Well, yesterday marked the five-year anniversary of this account's creation. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who's followed my work these past few years-- all the progress I've made as an artist wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement of my friends and watchers :)

The crazy thing is, the day after my five-year mark, one of my submissions was chosen to be a daily deviation. I seriously never thought it'd ever happen-- still can't wipe this stupid grin off my face, haha :XD:

I want to send out a big thank-you to nintensony for suggesting my work, and to KovoWolf for featuring it!

Hey, just wanted to say thanks to everybody who stopped by to send birthday wishes my way.

I'm turning 19 years old, so I can call myself a teenager one more year before I start using the term "manchild" :P

Didn't actually get the time to celebrate yesterday, but today I got to grab lunch with friends and hang out the rest of the day. Good times were had :)

Spring break is drawing to a close-- it was nice to have a week off to get re-centered and finish up some art for once. Finally got around to finishing that Starfox piece. I'll just slap a detail shot here for journal filler :P

Yep, that's the ol' workstation.

So once again, thanks for stoppin' by and enjoy the rest of your weekends :)
